Deviled Ham

Gather my friends for I have a tale to tell...

It involves this ham

And this giant water bowl....er, I mean pond

You may not have noticed, but Saturday was horrible! It was about 38C/102F and if you don't know temperature - that is very hot!
So I was sitting in the backyard wondering - why when it is so hot do people get to swim and ham just has to sit here and watch? Then I remembered the fish pond...it is filled with water...I know, because it is quite tasty.
So I jumped into the fish pond and rolled around. Then I had to jump out and roll around all over the ground. I performed these activities a few times before Mom came over yelling in some incomprehendable language.
I'll admit that I was a bit muddy...and forget "how many leaves can you spot on this ham?" It was more a case of "Can you spot the ham amongst the leaves?"
Mom was too angry to take photos...but here is an artistic impression of what I may have looked like.
Pfft...whatever.

So I had to go have a shower and a lecture about giving the fishies heart attacks...

sorry guys.

Though I think that's what they get for swimming in my water bowl...
Happy Australia Day!

Stuff

Now I don't claim to be a movie critic. I've only ever watched a couple of nature documentaries. But I have to recommend watching Open Season 2 - if anything because it has an animated Airedale in it!
Luckily my ears are getting better. Which is a good thing because Mom is driving me insane putting stuff in them all the time. I hide, but she still finds me.

How many leaves can you spot on this ham?

If you said 6...good try, but there is probably more on the other side!

Ears

I had to go to the vets on Saturday. I know most dogs don't like going, but I usually love it! It's so exciting with so many people and animals.
But Saturday...grr... I have an ear infection so what did that mean? A whole lotta pokin' around at my ear.
See my ear? See how it's unhappy?
*A note from Mom: Hamish was a bit of a drama queen at the vets. The vet wanted to swab his ear and he screamed in agony. Then he'd start grumbling in pleasure. Then back to crying. He kept going back and forth between happy and very upset while she was doing stuff to his ear. I know I shouldn't laugh but it was kinda funny. The vet assured me it wasn't as bad as he was making it out to be.

Don't believe her! Agony!

Oh my dog, was it hot last week or what?? Well except for Friday which was surprisingly chilly. Mom just kept asking me how do we go from 38F/100C to needing a sweater. Dunno! I handled it all very well, but I don't know about the Fluffies...under all that fluff and all..

This is Wil lying under a fan.

Mom offered to give them a lion clip so they'd be cooler, but they politely declined.
I don't know why that photo uploaded sideways...but let's just pretend it didn't happen...blog goblins maybe...
And yes that was still the Christmas tree behind me. I supervised while Mom took down all the decorations yesterday. LAZY!

Beach Ham

Today was a great day. Molly and her parents came over for a little while. We had fun running around the back yard.
Molly has never been to our house before and the Fluffies didn't quite know what to make of her. Wil got so freaked out he jumped over her - longways! Sadly, no pic.
After that excitement we went to the beach! I was only allowed off the lead when no one else was around though.

Molly enjoyed trying to catch sand.

I like to help Molly out by cleaning her ears.

She's doesn't seem to like it though.

I had such a big day I was absolutely exhausted by the time we left.

Bugs?!

There have been some strange bugs around the place lately. Dad had to go outside and cut down some branches that were extending into our yard. The branches drop plums and yours truly thinks they are very tasty, but Mom says they are no good for me. Party pooper.
So Dad cut off the branches and what did he find?
Stink Bugs!
Some of them looked like this. (if you click on the pics you should get a bigger view)
And some of them looked like this.

There were hundreds of them all over the branches and subsequently all over the lawn. Dad said they were pretty smelly. I thought they may be nice to eat, but wasn't allowed.

Mom thought the swarms of insects was all very nightmarish and is worried that they may attack during the night in revenge for having their home destroyed...the big girl...

And now the moment you've all been waiting for...
Leaf magnet.

Oi, you gonna put down that camera and help me get these leaves off or what?
Hope everyone has a great new year!
